Exactly, I agree. The best that a thread about God can be is a discussion, not a debate. No one's going to convince anyone of anything. We all just walk away feeling upset, seeing as our beliefs, (whether in a god or lack thereof) have been stomped on.

In my experience, it all depends on one's circle of influence, and their point of view on life, how they were raised, and what they were exposed to. Some people's lives and personal experiences led them to the conclusion that there is no God, and some people's lives and personal experiences led them to the conclusion that there is a God.
Either way, it's never appealing, or appropriate, to act as though one's beliefs make one superior to another, whether you believe in God or not.
