You wouldn't vote for him even if he was better qualified and could do the job better than any other canditate? I would vote for the person that is best equipped to do the job, it wouldn't matter if he was gay, straight or a female.

But again, I would want to study his mantra before voting. If he was a fair enough gay (as in he kept it to himself, would not bring it into politics etc) then I would probably vote for him. But on a generic basis I woud not, because of the effects.

Im personally sick and tired of this "gay" movement. Its constantly being rammed down our throats (not sure about australia) and we are all being forced to accept it as normal. (Take a look at Chesires response).

voting for somebody because there sexual preferance, race, sex and/or social statis is fucking stupid if there better than the other candidates then fuck yeh vote for them but for that reason alone not because there a little differant from the norm or because the idiot box said so

oh and in australia sexuality is pretty open, no one really cares nor minds, we do have mardi gra parade which is usually a great parade and celebration, its generally accepted ( some in the older generations dont like it but keep to them selves ) i dont think iv ever meet a gay person who was bigoted, racist or discrimitive ( except for one man eating lesbian lol )

I have certain moral values, and personally I dont give a flying fuck if anyone else upset by them. I express those moral views in an ability to vote or not to vote. Its my way of keeping democracy alive so we are NOT told that we cant vote on OUR preference.

As far as I'm concerned it's irrelevant...I understand why some are against it from a religious point of view (wether religion is right or wrong is a different arguement) but I'm sure many who turn their noses up to anything about homosexuality do so because of ignorance.
Lets say you voted for president X and for the next 8 years he (or she) was everything you wanted and more, then after office he came out and said he was gay... would you feel differently even though he was a great president ?
