Û the tempo, or replace sounds and process them Û
Û individually. ReCycle turns concrete-rigid loops into Û
Û musical modeling clay, allowing you, the loopist, to Û

Û How is it done? Û
Û Û
Û Start out with a regular audio file or sample, Û
Û preferably one of a rhythmic nature. Load the groove Û
Û into ReCycle, and the program will "look" at the Û
Û groove, analyze it, and break it up into its rhythmic Û
Û components. Each part is called a "slice". The Û
Û process itself is fully automated, but once the Û
Û slices are there, they are yours to move, audition or Û
Û delete, using the programs on-screen tools and Û
Û controls. Other tools allow you to set the length, Û
Û attack and decay of the slices, and to change your Û
Û grooves' overall tempo or pitch, without one Û
Û affecting the other! It's not magic, but it's Û
Û probably as close as you can get. Û

Û Then what? Û

Û The next step is of course to bring your improved Û
Û groove into one of your songs. At this point, the Û
Û procedures differ depending on your equipment and Û

Û If you like, you can use ReCycle simply as a problem Û
Û solver for loops. Load a drum loop into ReCycle, set Û
Û a new tempo or pitch, and save the results as a new Û
Û file. Or load up any groove, and use ReCycle's on Û
Û -screen signal processors: Compressor, EQ and Û
Û Transient Designer, to give it some punch and Û
Û distinction. Anything you choose to do in ReCycle can Û
Û be applied to your loop, and saved as a new file. Û

Û To use your loop directly in Emagic Logic, Steinberg Û
Û Cubase SX, Steinberg Nuendo or other audio sequencers Û
Û supporting REX2 files, all you need to do is save Û
Û your sliced-up loop as a REX2 file and import it onto Û
Û an Audio Track in your sequencer. The imported loop Û
Û will play back like the original, but now you can Û
